- 3⁄4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 teaspoons fast rising yeast
- 3 - 3 1⁄2 cups flour

- 1 egg
- coarse salt
- 1⁄4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons butter
directions
- Heat milk, sugar, salt, butter. Cool.
- Dissolve yeast in water.
- Combine with milk mix and 1 1/2 cups flour. Beat.
- Add rest of flour.
- Knead on floured surface.
- Cover and let rise 30 minutes.
- Punch down.
- Pinch golf ball size and roll into pencil shape strips.
- Place on greased sheet.
- Let rise 15 minutes.
- Brush with egg-water.
- Sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake 10 mins 400°F.

Well, I don't think this recipe is complete. It says to heat the first 4 ingredients but there is no butter on the list and there is only salt listed for the glaze. I tried to "wing" it, but my sticks turned out kinda just blan and with a chewy consistancy. Not really enjoyable. I liked the simplicity of the recipe, I just wish it was complete. No stars from me.
