  1. This dish was delicious but needed to cook for 2 hours not one. And also the onion although was good, it was still not done after 2 hours it was crisp and potent. I definitely would make this again but saute onions prior to putting in crockpot. :) Otherwise delicious!!!

  2. Yum, Yum...this recipe was wonderful. I do not care for mushrooms, so I used cream of broccoli and it turned out great. Everyone loved it. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Love this! Made only 2 changes - didn’t use any onion and only used 3 T. butter. I have never used any butter in broccoli casserole but I also had never made it in crockpot. I was scared to totally leave it out. I can’t imagine if I had used 11 T.!

  4. This is very yummy, but make sure you follow the directions and Thaw the broccoli. Dont be like me and just throw it all in because it will take for ever to cook.

  5. I followed the recipe as written so luckily the center of my crock pot is removable & microwaveable. I had to heat/cook it for 20 minutes to help the rice cook. The rice MUST be cooked prior to adding it in the crock pot with the other ingredients. This will make this dish much easier!

Tweaks

  1. Easy and cheesey side dish. I made this with 98% fat free cream of broccoli soup instead of cream of mushroom. I agree with a previous review that 11 tbsp of butter seemed excessive, so I only used 8 tbsp. Even with 2 lbs of cut broccoli, it just seemed like too much rice. When I make this again, I will adjust it and only use 1 cup of rice. Thanx for a great new Crockpot side!
