Broccoli Potato Kugel

"Even though this is a Passover recipe we also eat this during the year, it's a favorite. The measurements are very flexible, you really can't mess up this recipe!"

 1. This was so easy to make, and I really enjoyed the flavors. I did add a bit of cheese to the egg mixture too, otherwise followed to a T. I thought it could have used something else--maybe some garlic or onion (I have difficulty cooking without either one), so will probably add some next time. Thanks for another great recipe, Mirj!

 2. I enjoyed this and ended up eating most of it warmed over in the microwave, but my family all responded that it was only so-so. I will make this once in awhile in the future, but only in small amounts for myself, and possibly DH as he thought it was OK for combining our potatoes and veggies in a meal. Thank you for sharing this recipe Mirj! I loved it even if the rest of my family didn't!

 3. We thought is was pretty bland. I would soupe it up with garlic, onion, butter and whatefer spices I found at hand if I made it again. I ended up mashing up the leftovers, adding a bit of flour and frying them up as brocolli potato pancakes and that was very well received.

 4. Comfort food! I added some butter as I was mashing the mixture. I used crushed saltines instead of the matzos/farfel. The whole family enjoyed these "cheesey green mashed potatoes";) I will make this again; next time I think I will add the cheese during the last 20 minutes of baking. Thanx Mirj!

I'm married to a brilliant man with the most yummy British accent (this is the part where he rolls his eyes and says, Yeah, yeah, yeah). Let's call him Sushiman, even though he hates that name. Chia gave him that nickname when I was trying to create a dinner to show off my culinary talents. I posted here on Zaar with questions about the menu and since sushi was the main focus of the meal, he became Sushiman. That dinner was just the first of what I hope will become a lifetime of meals together.

This is a picture of us taken in September 2005 in Kew Gardens in London. We're the Brady Bunch on speed. Not all eight live with us, but everyone is in and out all of the time, so we're thinking about replacing our front door with one of those revolving thingies.

If you need help figuring out the whole complicated mess, you can check out <a title=Miriyummy -- A Guide to the Perplexed href=http://miriyummy.wordpress.com/about/ target=_blank>Miriyummy, A Guide to the Perplexed.

Here are my four beauties -- from left to right: Adiya, Sara, Nomi and Tehila

On March 18, 2009, my oldest, Sara, got married to Ariel.
