  • Preheat broiler.
  • Cut tomatoes in half and arrange them on a lightly oiled baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Cut garlic in thin slivers. Stud tomato halves with garlic.
  • Place tomatoes under broiler and broil 5 minutes or until garlic starts to burn. Discard garlic and serve.

  1. This meal was quick, quick and love the ease. I followed recipe exactly, except that in my oven 5 minutes wasn't enough time to broil the tomatoes (my oven's getting old) . Though the picture I took includes the garlic in the tomato, I did remove it upon eating it. Considering that tomatoes are not in season they came out pretty good. I can only imagine how much better they would be when tomatoes are at their peak in summer. I will definitely be making these again and love the simplicity which makes the tomato flavor the star of the dish! Thank you threeovens for sharing.
     
  2. Very good! And I'm not a huge tomato fan. We added basil too.
