  1. Make the lentils:.
  2. Soak lentils in water for 1 hours.
  3. Boil lentils until foam develops. Scoop off and discard the foam.
  4. Add all ingredients and boil for 30 minutes.
  5. Add cilantro and 1 TBSP lemon juice.
  6. Make the seasoning:.
  7. Heat 1 TBSP oil in a small pan or pot.
  8. Add the cumin seeds until they pop.
  9. Add red pepper and quickly stir.
  10. Pour this mixture into the pot of lentils.
  11. Stir and serve hot.
