  • Make the lentils:

  • Soak lentils in water for 1 hours.
  • Boil lentils until foam develops. Scoop off and discard the foam.
  • Add all ingredients and boil for 30 minutes.
  • Add cilantro and 1 TBSP lemon juice.
  • Make the seasoning:

  • Heat 1 TBSP oil in a small pan or pot.
  • Add the cumin seeds until they pop.
  • Add red pepper and quickly stir.
  • Pour this mixture into the pot of lentils.
  • Stir and serve hot.
