  1. In a mixing bown, cream the shortening and brown sugar together.
  2. Mix in the egg, milk and vanilla.
  3. Once thoroughly mixed, add the dry ingredients just until they combine.
  4. Place batter in paper cupcake cups or into a well greased pan about 3/4 up.
  5. Bake at 400 for 16-20 until you get a clean toothpick from the center of the muffin.
  6. Let cool 3-5 before moving from the pan to a wire cooling rack.
  7. Enjoy.
