  1. Combine sugar with melted butter and vanilla. Cream well with whisk (no mixer needed).
  2. Add eggs gradually to creamed mix and mix well.
  3. Sift flour and cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt together.
  4. Add flour mixture to egg mixture, whisk to incorporate.
  5. Add pecan and caramel bites.
  6. Pour on a lined (or greased and floured) 1/2 sheet pan or square cake pan.
  7. Bake 18-20 minutes @ 350.
  8. Cool before cutting.
