Bubbles Cake

"My youngest daughter refers to these as "Monkey Bread" and has been requesting them a lot lately. They are somewhat time consuming, but well worth it. Brown sugar and cinnamon can be substituted for the cinnamon and sugar if you wish to have a caramel flavor."

 1. Here's a hint to really save you a lot of time and trouble. Go to the freezer section at the grocery store. They have pre-made frozen roll dough of almost every variety. Some are a little big, and I just cut those in half. Much easier than dealing with making the dough yourself.

 2. This made a very tasty breakfast cake. I used a sourdough recipe for the bread and brown sugar. Instead of pinching off balls of dough, I lightly rolled it out about 1 inch thick and cut it into small squares with my pizza cutter. This made it quicker, I think. Nuts would also be a nice addition, but I didn't think of that until after the fact. Thanks for the recipe, Cindy Lynn!

 3. I have found an easier way to make this recipe if you don't want to make your own bread. I buy 2 tubes of biscuits and slice each biscuit into quarters then roll them in the sugar and layer. Its a very yummy recipe.

I am currently a stay at home Mom and wife (aka: homemaker, domestic engineer, chauffeur, etc.). My husband and I made this choice about 2 1/2 years ago. At the time I was averaging 72 hours/week +. Our kids were complaining that they never saw me, and one of them was even getting in trouble (too little supervision apparently). We got the troubled teen through high school, and she is currently preparing for college. Things have improved a lot so I am considering going back to work part-time while the kids are gone to school (if the right opportunity presents itself).

I love to cook, especially trying new recipes. I get tired of the same ol', same ol'. I also love reading cookbooks and the history of recipes. I always hated doing all the dishes afterwards, so I did a lot of one dish meals whenever possible. Recently, my husband bought me a new dishwasher, so now I am cooking up a storm! Everyone is loving it.

I look forward to making new friends in Recipezaar, trying out new recipes, and hope some of you will try some of mine. Please, if you try my recipes, take time to post a little note telling me about your experience and any modifications you may have made. I just love to experiment and try new things in the kitchen! :-))
