Burt's Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 cups white sugar
- 2 cups brown sugar, packed
- 2 cups real butter
- 3 eggs
- 2 tablespoons vanilla
- 6 cups sifted flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 (12 ounce) bags chocolate chips
- 2 cups nuts (optional)
directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Blend white sugar, brown sugar, and butter; then cream for 2 more minutes.
- Add eggs and vanilla and beat till well blended.
- Sift flour - measure - then sift again with the remaining dry ingredients. Add gradually to the creamed mixture.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls (or cookie scoop) onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 for about 7 - 8 minutes . . . or you can bake at 325 for 15 minutes.

This is another recipe I made to help out some neighbor kids with their cookie sale, & these cookies went over in a big way, but then chocolate chip cookies usually do, I think! I did use a dark brown sugar, which I thought added a nice touch, & also used slivered almonds! Thanks for sharing the recipe! [Tagged, made & reviewed for one of my adopted chefs in the current Pick A Chef]
