Butter Balls
"This recipe came from a former co-worker and has become my signature Christmas Cookie. We prefer pecans to walnuts and have found that Rodelle Vanilla really kicks up the flavor. The nuts are chopped in the food processor. These cookies Freeze well (can make a month a head of your event)."

66 cookies
ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 3⁄4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 lb butter
- 4 teaspoons vanilla
- 4 cups pecans or 4 cups walnuts, finely chopped
- powdered sugar
directions
- In very large bowl knead all ingredients except powdered sugar like pie dough.
- Form Balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet,.
- Bake at 350 degrees about 10-12 minute but do not brown.
- Roll in powdered sugar while hot and again when cooled.
- Refrigerate cooled cookies.
