Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Wash and drain lentils.
  2. Add to medium-size saucepan with water, bay leaves, and garlic.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Cook, covered, until very tender, about 30 minutes; drain, reserving 1/4 cup liquid.
  5. Remove bay leaves.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F
  7. Transfer lentils to large mixing bowl.
  8. Add carrots, onion, green pepper, parsley, and almonds.
  9. Blend thoroughly.
  10. In separate bowl combine egg, lemon juice, Butter Buds, reserved lentil liquid, and seasonings.
  11. Mix well.
  12. Add to lentil mixture.
  13. Blend in tomato paste and breadcrumbs.
  14. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly blended.
  15. Form into 6-inch loaf and place in shallow roasting pan.
  16. Bake, covered, 30 to 35 minutes.
  17. Uncover and bake 5 minutes longer.
