  • Pour melted butter into 9x9x2 baking dish.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • Add milk and stir until dough forms.
  • Turn dough onto floured surface.
  • Knead 10 times.
  • Roll or pat into 8-inch square.
  • With floured knife, cut square in half.
  • Cut each half into 9 strips or rectangle pieces.
  • Dip each strip into butter and arrange into square inside baking pan.
  • Bake at 450 for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  1. These were pretty good. They looked similar to a Pizza Hut bread stick and I sprinkled them with a little garlic, cheese and herb seasoning before baking. They don't have a that yeasted bread stick taste of course but are quick and easy and tasty for what they are. I will try cinnamon and sugar the next time. Thanks!!
     
  2. I love these when I want to make a homemade bread. I just put the butter in the baking dish and melt it in the oven while it is preheating. I used 1/2 tsp. salt, and 3/4 cup of milk. Just make sure you use lots of flour to knead the dough, as it is rather wet.
