Butter Tart Squares

"This is a recipe that was handed down to me from my mother-in-law. These squares are also on my Christmas baking list and let me tell you, they get gobbled up in no time anywhere I take them! Beware, this recipe is not for someone watching their sugar or calorie intake. Decadent and ohhhhhh sooooo YUMMY! :)"

 1. I cut the recipe way back to make a tiny batch and used golden raisins. PERFECT. We found them to be just right in sweetness. Made for PAC Fall 2009

 2. I tried one when I first cut them, and found they way too sweet. I put them in the freezer, as I'm doing my Christmas baking ahead of time. This morning I sampled one and....OH MY GAWDDDDDDDD, are they ever fantastic. For some reason they seem to have mellow out some. I think I may have to store them in someone elses' freezer or there won't be any left for company. Thanks Nibblets for a terrific recipe, and for adding to my waistline. :)

I just love to cook and bake for my family. I especially take pride in my Christmas baking. That time of year in my home is always a big deal. Christmastime isn't the same without all the wonderful smells, decorating and warm, fuzzy feelings the season brings with it.

I must say, I do enjoy searching for old-fashioned type recipes or comfort foods, rather than the artsy type recipes. I'm a nostalgic one indeed! :)
