directions

  • Bring water, 2 boullion cubes and 1/2 stick of butter to boil using med to high heat.
  • Add egg noodles.
  • Cook until noodles are desired texture.
  • (About 6-8 minutes) During last minute of cooking add remaining 1/2 stick of butter.
  • (You may add additional butter if desired. Also you may use 1 can of chicken broth instead of bullion. I suggest using bullion).

Reviews

  1. My teenage kids loved it as well as my husband - the best. I increased the amount of water used and only used 1/2 stick of butter total. The sauce was still great. MMMM!!

  2. Very good, quick and easy to make. If I have fresh parsley on hand next time I think I may add just a touch of them.

  3. Very good and quick to make. My family ate the whole bowl. Thanks for the easy recipe.

  4. Good noodles but I think that the directions are lacking a bit. Even as a pretty experienced cook I was ready to prepare these in a tall, burner sized, metal saucepan. Thank goodness I read some reviews first to realize that this needs to be made in a shallow, large bottomed pan such as a non-stick skillet (which is what I ended up using). The taste delivered what I expected but to take it up a notch I snipped fresh parsley and parmesan cheese over the top before serving.

  5. Wonderful!!!!!!!!!1111

Tweaks

  1. Beefy noodles

  2. YUMMY! These were delicous. Instead of real butter I mostly used light margarine. It turned out great! I addded lots of salt, pepper, and parsley to flavor it nicely. At the end of cooking I did add 2 tbs. of real butter along with the light margarine. This needs to be frequently stirred since the water doesnt completely cover. Also covering your pot while it boils will give an extra hand on steaming those top noodles that arent under the water. After the 6-8 minutes it was perfectly cooked and all the liquid was sucked right up into those noodles. Im glad I found this recipe! I will be making it all the time!

  3. These were delicious! Only change I made was to add an extra 1/2 cup of water. I tried a lower fat version of this recipe, using no yolks egg noodles and 1 stick of margarine instead of the butter and it turned out great. Not quite as flavorful as the original recipe, but the family still ate 'em all up!

  4. Added about another half cup of water

  5. I didn't have boullion cubes, so i substituted the same amount of stock for the water. Still needed more liquid along the way as the noodles cooked. Interesting way to cook noodles though.
