- 2 cups flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 2 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon orange extract
directions
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In a bowl sift together flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- In a seperate bowl cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. When eggs are combined add buttermilk, vanilla and orange extract.
- Slowly combine flour mixture and buttermilk mixture until combined. Pour into a bundt pan and bake for 60 minutes or until done all the way through.
