Cabbage and Cheddar Gratin

"This is from the Whole Foods Market's website. I haven't tried it yet but intend to do so soon. I love cabbage, its nutritional benefits, and low cost. This recipe has some interesting additions that should add some zip. I'll edit this after I make it."

  1. The flavor of this cabbage was wonderful. I followed the recipe as written. For the herbs, I used parsley, dill and tarragon. Great flavor. The problem was the texture. It was very awkward.... like dry, gritty and pasty. I'd cut the cornmeal in half and maybe add some milk as well. I think that would fix the texture issue. Thanx for sharing.

My husband and I moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania in 2005. We absolutely love it here, especially being near the Smoky Mountains. My kids are grown and are out of the house. I am a nurse practitioner, work for Evercare, a division of United Healthcare, caring for elderly patients in nursing homes. My husband and I love the outdoors, and we especially enjoy hiking in the Smoky Mountains. I also enjoy doing Jazzercise as often as I can get there. We have 2 spoiled rotten kitties, Elizabeth and Harvey, and an equally spoiled rotten yellow lab, Hayley.
