  1. My recipe (over 100 years old )is better -from my grandmother. I am 87. No sugar or sour cream, use crushed real tomatoes or (Hunts- tomato sauce) to cover the cabbage roll. Saute : bacon strips or 1/4/ lb. slab bacon in which diced onions and garlic are sauteed, and parboiled rice, Add to ground beef, one bell or red pepper (to be stuffed-for added flavor ). Cook on stove top for at least one hour . (Hint" freeze head of cabbage and then defrost in microwave for easy separating -my additio). Enjoy.

  2. Great flavors. Loved that it is low in carbohydrates naturally without trying or thinking about it. Has versitility within ingredients too. I stuck with this instructions minus the sugar. The family loved it, only requested next time more cabage.

  3. Really "low carb" friendly. I use Mexican style tomatoes and put extra (without juice) before the cheese.

  4. This was easy to make, but received mixed reviews at my house. I liked the tender cabbage & meat layer, but wasn't crazy over the sour cream layer. Other diners though liked it as is. Thank you for sharing the recipe! Made for ZWT6~Germany.
