California Ice Tea by Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa)

"I watched Barefoot Contessa fix this today and since I had all ingredients on hand and it is HOT, thought I would fix it for our supper tonight. I sure am glad I did. This is awesome on a hot day. I hope you will try it too!"

  • Steep the 4 tea bags in 4 cups of boiling water for 10 minutes. Discard the tea bags and allow the tea to cool.
  • Combine the lemon juice, sugar and 4 cups of cold water in a large pitcher. Add the tea and lemon slices. Serve over ice.

  1. I also tried this recipe and I halved the amount of lemonjuice. Unfortunatly it was still too lemony and needed alot of Stevia/sugar.
     
  2. I made this and only used 1/2 cup lemon. It was very nice. I think 1 cup would have been too much. Much enjoyed! Made for the Summer Comfort Cafe 2009.
     
  3. I saw Ina make this as well and I was anxious to try it, since I love lemon tea. It wasn't what I was expecting. It was very lemony and I couldn't taste the tea at all. I think next time I will cut down on the lemon juice a bit and see how that goes. Thanks for posting!!!
