Camp Fire Potatoes

"Easy to make potatoes when you are camping and want a side dish. My parents always made these when we were growing up camping. Make as many as you like in aluminum foil."

  • wash, peel potato if you like.
  • slice potato from top to bottom until you get several french fry looking pieces.
  • add 1 tablespoon of onion.
  • add 1 tablespoon of margarine.
  • season with salt and pepper.
  • Wrap tightly in foil. Place on coals, firepit rack, bar-b-que etc and cook for 45-55 min until done. Turning every 10 - 15 min to prevent burning.
  • remove and let cool for a few minutes before opening.
