Very easy is an understatement. I never thought about using canned veggies in the crockpot. I have made this twice. The first time I followed the recipe as written but we didn't care for not draining the veggies before adding to the mix. When the veggies weren't drained we thought it added a sweetness that we didn't care for. The second time I used two cans of carrots drained, two cans of potatoes drained and one can of corn drained. I also used a pound and a half of stew meat. I then added a can of beef broth, a lot of pepper, the onion soup and crushed tomatoes. We thought it was great then. Hubby also added old bay to his serving but that's just a personal preference. This is a great recipe to keep around because it was made with ingredients I always have on hand. Thanks for the great base recipe.

I've lived in Indiana all of my 51 years. I'm a wife and working mother of two. I enjoy cooking, but probably I enjoy perusing and collecting recipes even more! I'm an avid photographer and I also enjoy hiking, reading, camping, and spending time with my family. I'm a nature lover for sure and have a fondness for animals much to my husband's chagrin and my children's delight!
