ingredients

2 cups flour
4 ¹⁄₂ teaspoons baking soda
³⁄₄ teaspoon salt
1 cup cornmeal
3 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
¹⁄₂ cup pure maple syrup
³⁄₄ cup shortening, melted

directions

Mix eggs, milk, maple syrup and melted shortening.
Add dry ingredients.
Bake at 400F for about 30 minutes in a 9x9 pan.
