  1. SPECTACULAR!!!!! And my mother is a celebrated chef and baker...she loves these. I made them for my BF for Resurrection Sunday. So glad I did. AMAZING :-) :-) :-) Also, I halved the sugar and used half light brown half white. My mom is not a fan of the cinnamon, but what can you do...it's not a spice she likes, but the BF ...he loved them. :-) :-) :-)

  2. These were delicious, easy and went wonderful with the rest of my Christmas dinner. I halved it since there are only two of us and it all turned out perfectly. It tasted even better heated up the next day. Thanks Bev for a wonderful recipe!

  4. Now THESE are the TRUE southern candied sweet potatoes I remember. There are no silly ingredients like marshmallows, orange juice, or pineapple. My mother and grandmother used to make these when we were coming up. How I wished I could've gotten their recipe when they were still alive. I searched the net frantically trying to find a recipe that at least closely resembled theirs. To my dismay, all of them contained some of the ingredients mentioned above. Then I came upon yours. After one bite of I knew that I'd found the one! The taste is spot on. This was one of my brother's favorite dish and I knew that I'd hit the jackpot when he tasted them and said those magic words: "Mmm...These taste like Mama's!" I can't thank you enough, Bev, for taking me back and giving me that taste of home that I thought I'd never have again.

  5. These are fantastic!! This is only the second time I have "fried" sweet taters...Never knew they could be done that way!! They turned out so tender and sweet...I did cut the recipe in half as there are only two of us here, but, didn't hurt a thing...DH and I cleaned them up!! Thank you for sharing this nifty little recipe, Bev...You can bet I'll make these again!! Laudee (I fixed this recipe for our "Bev Cook-a-Thon"...Sure glad I did!!)
