Caramel Bananas with Maple Syrup

"This is very easy to make, and it's delicious too. Use pure maple syrup if possible. Makes ALL the difference. Serve as a light dessert or at a lazy Sunday brunch on pancakes."

  1. I made this for dessert and served it over ice cream. Delicious!!! Next time however I think I will double the amount of sauce so that there is more to pour over the ice cream. It was very tasty and not too sweet.

  2. Good DD (5 years old) helped make and liked it too. I think with maple syrup it would be better but we used brown sugar. We had it on top of recipe#40362.

  3. This was really sweet, but I really liked them, and the lime juice added a nice twang to it. I enjoyed them with ice cream.

  4. This is a great topping for pancakes or plain french toast! I have served it several times for brunch with great success, everyone says 'hmmmmm' this is good!!!

  5. This one's one of my favourite banana desserts. I've made it for my family and friends several times and it's always been a hit!

Hi everyone! I'm addicted to recipezaar - there are so many things that I love about this site; the wonderful people, recipes, lots of great pictures and there's always someone who'll answer my cooking/baking/general question. I grew up in Malaysia, but now live in sunny Singapore. Both are beautiful tropical (read: HOT!) countries in Southeast Asia. There are so many good food here, especially ethnic stuff like spicy Malaysian curries (which will clear the worst blocked nose), flaky & crispy Indian roti paratha/canai, homey Chinese stir-fries, rich & decadent Asian desserts like kuih lapis (Malay many-layers cake), pineapple tarts, crumbly peanut cookies etc. <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v632/zaarfreak/REI/12may05REI2_S.jpg" alt="Image hosted by Photobucket.com">
