ingredients

18 ounces German chocolate cake mix
²⁄₃ cup evaporated milk, separated
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
12 ounces caramels
¹⁄₂ cup butter, melted
1 cup chopped nuts

directions

Mix cake with butter and 1/3 Cup evaporated milk, divide in 1/2.
Place half in a greased 13x9 greased pan.
Bake @ 350 for 6 minutes.
In microwave, melt caramels with 1/3 Cup evaporated milk.
Sprinkly chocolate chips evenly on baked cake mix, cover with melted caramels.
Top with the remaining half of cake mix. (i flatten it in my hand and piece it together on the top, a few cracks are ok).
Bake @ 350 for 20 minutes.
