- 1 cup butter
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 (12 ounce) box Chex cereal
- 2 brown paper bags
directions
- Put two paper bags together (one inside the other).
- Pour the entire box of Chex into the bag(s) and set aside.
- Melt the butter, sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan on med-high heat until boiling, stir constantly.
- Boil for 1 1/2 minutes.
- Pour the mixture on top of the Chex in the bag, roll down the top of the bag and shake well.
- Put the bag into the microwave for 20 seconds, remove and shake.
- Repeat step #6 four times.
- Spread the Chex onto a cookie sheet (works best on one with edges), lightly sprayed with butter-flavored Pam.
- Stir frequently as it cools, so it doesn't harden into one big clump.
