ingredients
- 236.59 ml butter (not margarine)
- 473.18 ml brown sugar
- 177.44 ml light corn syrup
- 2.46 ml baking soda
- 1 box Crispix cereal
directions
- Bring butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup to a boil.
- Boil 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add baking soda (it will foam).
- Put the cereal in a large bowl and pour the boiled mixture over the cereal and stir to coat.
- Bake 1 hour at 200-250F degrees.
- Stir every 15 minutes.
- You may add nuts if you desire.

??? Questionable, I've Been making this for 15-20 yrs. This year Not sure what happened. Our Recipe calls for Boiling at Rapid Boil for 5 min stirring constantly!! But we seemed to get a little too hard in spots??? Does anyone know what point you are to take the Caramel to....?Soft Ball? Hard Ball? Soft Crack? ......We'v always just done 5min. Never had a problem before, It's a HOLIDAY tradition!! -
Very easy to make! Be sure to use a LARGE pot, as the mixture will foam to double the size! Added pretzels and honey roasted peanuts after mixing in caramel and re-mixed before baking. Yummy! Be sure to 'fold' in caramel, not 'stir', as it will decrease Crispix breaking up.

Made this as a snack to take along camping. I had trouble mixing in the boiled mixture into the cereal without the cereal crumbling, however it still tasted good. Thanks for posting!

I added about 2 tablespoons of vanilla to mine and it was absolutely delicious. Will be making this for holidays and such. Thanks for the recipe!
