  • Put all ingredients, except walnuts, in saucepan; stir over low heat until dissolved.
  • Cook slowly, stirring often until a tiny bit dropped in cold water forms a soft ball, 240 degrees.
  • Remove from heat; beat until candy begins to thicken.
  • Add nuts; drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper.
