- 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon plain flour
- vanilla essence
- 2 ounces butter
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1 egg yolk
directions
- In a saucepan, mix together the flour and sugar until well blended.
- Chop the butter into small pieces.
- Add a little of the milk to the flour and sugar and mix well until smooth and then add the rest of the ingredients.
- Stir over a medium heat and when mixture starts to thicken, remove from heat and beat well with electric mixer.
- Mixture will thicken more when cool.
