ingredients
- 1 bunch banana
- 16 ounces brown sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 8 ounces whipped cream
directions
- Peel all bananas and after doing so split down the middle and then cut in half, optional to cut in half but you do need to split, it is easier on me to quarter them and makes a good presentation.
- Place cut bananas aside and melt 1 stick of butter, set the other stick aside in case you need more when cooking, if you use a lot when dredging the bananas then you will need to melt before starting to fry.
- Once butter is melted start warming your skillet on medium high, watch closely as you will only want to slightly brown when cooking so it wont take long.
- While skillet is heating up please take your bananas and start buttering both sides of each slice very well. I use a brush to do so or you can dredge them through the butter if you wish but please keep in mind doing so will soak up more butter so please be careful if you do not wish them buttery.
- After all slices are done add butter in the skillet (enough to coat the bottom well).
- Then start placing slices in the skillet, when you have a skillet full take brown sugar and start adding, no measurement is needed as you just cover them.
- After you coat a side with brown sugar on the first coat flip them over and coat the next side and let them sit for about one minute.
- After the minute is up flip and coat again as doing so add brown sugar in the pan and let it cook along with the rest, it does not have to be a lot but I judge it by the way people like caramel, so please just try a little at first as this is very rich.
- When bananas are golden and slightly brown down the center they are done.
- Remove from skillet and place on plate.
- Add whip cream to top and serve hot :-).
- Then repeat until you finish.
- Also try other fruits with it, I top mine with cold strawberries from time to time.
- Enjoy!

This turned out much better than I thought it would - it is so delicious and yet so deceptively simple to prepare. This took me ten minutes to make, and I served it with deluxe Ice Cream instead of cream to make a luxurious dessert. When this is served on nice serving plates, it looks and tastes restaurant class....

WONDERFUL! I changed a few things. I only cooked two bananas for myself and boyfriend. So I added two teaspoon full of I cant believe its not butter and coated with brown sugar following the normal directions. then i put on top of low fat vanilla frozen yogurt. probably still fairly high in cals but not too bad and tasted amazing! i actually find the vanilla frozen yogurt is just as good as the real thing...and so is i cant believe its not butter so give it a go :). Highly recommend with ice cream instead of whip...makes for a much more awesome dessert and not sickly sweet.

I am happily married to my wife Crystal who is a member here as well. We have 7 children collectivly so there are never any dull moments for us :-) I am disabled and am home all the time, I wish I could work but I am lucky to get to be with my family all the time, watch the babies grow and spend time with Crystal. I have always loved to cook, even in middle school I used to make cakes at Christmas to buy presents and got to where I made them through the year for the teachers so my little business for Christmas money grew into a pretty good job that I loved. I think my favorites to work with are cakes and candies but I can cook a wide array of foods... I do not like Phillo that much though, lol. My favorite cookbook is a Betty Crocker cookbook that was my grandmothers and it has alot of choclate and candy recipies in it, even one for my favorite fudge frosting, I will post it, it is quick and simple and delicious.
