  1. Very good salad. Loved the crunch of the carrots with the creaminess of the dressing and the sweetness of the raisins. Holds up nicely for several days.

  2. I made this over Memorial weekend, everyone loved it. I just found out after knowing my husband for 20 yrs this is one of his favorite salads. I never knew, so of course I had to make it. When I first made it I tried it and didn't like it. All I could taste was the miracle whip (which I don't like). After letting the salad chill for a couple of hours it was wonderful. I followed the directions exactly. This will be made often thanks MizzNezz!

  3. Delicious! I've been looking for a recipe that reminds me of my late grandmother's carrot raisin salad. This is it. I made as directed adding only a pinch of salt and a grind of pepper at the end to counter the sweetness. Very good. Also quick & easy to prepare using the food processor. Those convenience packs of pre-shredded carrots would also be speedy in a pinch. I plan to try it with dried cranberries in place of raisins. Thanks MizzNezz.

  4. Just like my mom used to make! I use mayo (that's what I have) and a touch of white wine vinegar. Thank you!

  5. Simple and delightful. I added a little fresh parsley and about 1/4 cup crushed pineapple, since I had a little leftover and it sounded good. It was!

Tweaks

  1. Yummy:) It has a unique taste to it, but very good! I used craisins instead of raisins and I halved it for just 2 of us.

  2. Yum! I added just a tiny splash of vinegar as well and used craisins instead of raisins. Would definitely make this again. Thanks!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
