  1. For meatballs: Combine ground beef, cracker or bread crumbs, salt, milk, pepper and onions/herbs. Blend well.
  2. Make mixture into balls, and brown them on all sides.
  3. For sauce: Simmer together ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, water first quantity of water, until hot and sugar is dissolved.
  4. Thicken smoothly with cornstarch and second quantity of water.
  5. Add meatballs to sauce and simmer until meatballs are cooked through.
