Cavatinie

"It is a meal that will satisfy a crowd of people and does not take to long to make it. I first had it at Pizza Hut' about 15 years ago and I loved it. You can use what ever type of noodle you may have like, elbow, wagon wheel, rotini or shell."

directions

  • In a large pot boil water as pasta directions indicate. I usually do not boil noodles all the way. I wait till they are about 3/4 of the way cooked.
  • While noodles are cooking take a large saucepan and fry the gr beef and the sausage until they are done. Cut sausage into bite size bits or take out of casing and cook like gr. beef. Add onions, garlic & peppers to meat mixture and simmer till they are done.
  • Take and heat up the spaghetti sauce and you may doctor it up any way you choose. Once meat mix is done add the sauce and meat together.
  • Take your noodles and put into a large casserole dish or 2 depending on how much you have made add the meat sauce and mix so every spoon has meat & noodles. I like a moist casserole so I always have extra sauce on hand to add to this casserole. Right before your ready to put this in the oven sprinkle the cheese over the top and do not be afraid to mic some into the dish. Bake in oven at 250 for 30 minute or until the cheese has melted. Serve with garlic bread and a small salad. This recipe can serve at least 20 but I also make it ahead but keep some out prior to baking and freeze it for another time.
