- 6 slices challah
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
- 1⁄4 teaspoon grated orange zest (optional)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon oil
directions
- Whisk eggs and milk.
- Add orange zest, honey and vanilla. Add salt and cinnamon.
- Soak bread slices for 5-6 minutes, turning once.
- Melt unsalted butter and oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.Add the bread and cook 2-3 minutes on each side or until browned.
