  1. I served this spread as dessert with mixed cheese crackers and 6 varieties of locally grown grapes. wonderful finish to an already great meal. Thanks Lennie I thought about leaving out the onions as I was serving it as the dessert course but I'm glad I didn't just right the way it is

  2. I thought this spread was delicious. It was so easy to prepare. It was hard to resist sampling it until it had sat overnight. Note: The rum flavor is rather pronounced, so if you don't care for rum, I think you could substitute another type of liquor. I enjoyed this very much with the rum, but think I would also like to try it sometime with apple brandy. Great party food!

  3. My family and I found this much too greasy and bland. On next batch I shall double the chedar cheese use about 1/4 the butter, and replace the rest with cream cheese. For our taste we added some hot sauce. Even a single seeded jalapeno would give it a welcomed zing. When my wife says it is bland, then it must be for she does not like food very spicy. The rum was a truly great flavor with the chedar.
