1. This is a very handy item to have waiting in your freezer, should unexpected company drop in. I made these a lot in the late 70s and early 80s, and I remember that it was important to tell everyone what they were; they don't look like olives and olive-haters will be in for a nasty surprise if they bite into one. I really enjoy the taste of these. Once you get the hang of wrapping the dough around the olives, they are fast and easy to prepare. I think that using a sharp (old) cheddar gives the best results.

 2. I love these. You must like olives though or you will be disappointed.

 3. I was happy to find this recipe as I used to make them years ago and lost the recipe. I used to freeze them on a cookie sheet, then put them in a freezer bag and when company came VIOLA, I could take out as many as I needed and baked them! Thanks Mystery Girl!

 4. Not sure if the "dough" was supposed to be crumbly as it was or if it was supposed to be more dough like. I found that when I had olive juice on my hands they formed dough better and it was easier to get around the olive (btw I used queen sized olives in pics). I expected them to taste better. They were interesting. But I wouldn't make them too often.

 5. LOVE these!!!! They send me back to the 70's with every bite! The only thing I do differently is add some cayenne to the dough for a little "zip". These are a perfect holiday appetizer with their coloring and ease. A must try if you enjoy green olives.

Back then the original owners Troy and Gay ran the site and they had a lot of interaction with the members. I miss them.

Through the years it still remains to this day my favorite go to site and the one that I send all of my friends and family to when they need anything.
8724616"
