Cheesy Minute/Sandwich Steak Casserole

"Super cheesy, stick to your ribs, definitely NOT a diet dish. Fairly quick to make...kids LOVE it. My b/f came up with this one night when all we had in the freezer were some minute/sandwich steaks. I have 30 minutes for prep time but I've seen him toss this together in half that time. The kids don't like chopped green peppers but I think they would be great in this dish. Also great for covered dish suppers."

  1. Husband liked it, kids liked it! Inexpensive and easy to make; this recipe's a keeper.

  2. This very good. I didn't have any minute steaks on hand, but had a couple of leftover sirloin steaks I chopped up. My family loved it. Instead of ketsup I used spagetti sauce, I seasoned that with garlic powder, oinion powder and oregano, which worked our real well. Thanks for the post!

  3. Not bad. The ketchup overpowered the other ingredients. Next time, I will switch the ketchup to cream of mushroom soup. I also added green peppers.

  4. I tried your caserole... tastes fantastic... You are absolutely right not a low fat but it's worth it(just eat very light all day)... Tastes even better the next day!!! Next time I am going to try with the chicken steaks (I'll probably need to reduce the ketchup)and add frozen broccoli...

I'm 36, live in Eastern PA and went from being single, with only myself & the cats to worry about, to being a part of a new blended family. So now it's me, my bf, his 2 kids and the 2 cats. I'm finding out that finicky just doesn't apply to cats anymore, either! It is fun, though & very rewarding. My bible of cooking is The Joy Of Cooking-I swear by it. When I'm not chasing kids or doing laundry or working (I'm an insurance agent) I enjoy rug hooking, crocheting and reading.
