Cherry Avocado Smoothie

"I LOVE this smoothie. It's so rich and creamy and has the texture of the best ice cream - without dairy! This smoothie is like eating 5 servings of fruits and veggies and it's delicious to boot! You can't even taste the veggies - I promise!____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Made this today on a whim - pretty delicious for no recipe! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Remember, the citrus juice is a must with the combination of spinach so the body can absorb more of the iron available in the spinach."

  1. I made this just as written except I didn't have the juice mentioned so I just did half of the amount with orange juice and half with mango juice. It comes out a nasty vile color but it really is great tasting. My husband raved about it :)

  2. This is absolutely delicious but looks ugly!! I did use fresh cherries which I pitted myself! I also used just mango nectar BEST (brand) and added a little spring water as well. I did have to add more of the nectar to get my blender moving and it was still pretty thick. I would make this again using frozen cherries because they are not worth pitting. Again I would use the mango nectar or I'd like to try it with freshly squeezed orange juice to be raw.

  3. This was pretty good. Not as sweet as my usual smoothies, but I usually use bananas along with these kind of ingredients. My 13yo son just added a heap of brown sugar (yuck!) to make it sweeter, but my 2yo son enjoyed it as written. (My 4yo son refused to try it because he saw the spinach going in. lol) I'll probably try this combo again and add banana. Thanks! Reviewed for Healthy Choices ABC tag game.
