  1. Butter an 8x8 inch pan.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, sugar and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil and stir in gelatin.
  4. Boil 4 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in butter, chocolate chips, vanilla and cherries.
  6. Pour into prepared pan.
  7. Chill 2 hours before serving.
