  1. In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the egg, milk, oil, and extract together.
  3. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
  4. Fold in cherries and chocolate chips.
  5. Fill paper-lined muffin cups 3/4 full.
  6. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20-25 minutes or until a pick comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
