  1. Beat margarine in a large mixing bowl with an electric mixer on med speed for 10 seconds.
  2. Add the sugars, spices, and baking soda; beat until combined. Beat in egg.
  3. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer.
  4. Stir in the remaining flour, apple, and walnuts with a wooden spoon.
  5. Drop dough by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 375F for 9-11 minutes or until the edges are LIGHTLY browned.
  7. For Caramel Dip: Stir together 1 cup caramel apple dip and sour cream until smooth.
  8. Makes about 2 cups.
