- 3 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1⁄2 cups butter, softened
- 1 1⁄4 cups white sugar
- 1 1⁄4 cups brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking powder and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla, until well blended.
- Gradually stir in the flour mixture.
- Add chocolate chips.
- Drop cookies by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 14 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges are light brown.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet before removing to wire racks to cool completely.

i live in apple valley, mn. love cooking and baking. i like all cookbooks that break down the recipes. simple recipes are superb. i love, love, love baking! if i could, i'd open up a bakery or restaurant. that's a dream of mine. pet peeves would have to be people who are mean, inconsiderate, dishonest, ignorant and close-minded.
