“These are the BEST oatmeal cookies EVER. Make sure you use rolled oats, real butter and shortening. You may have to do a trial batch to see what bake time works for your oven. My yield and serving size info is not correct.... I can't remember what the total yield is since we usually make these in HUGE batches. :D”

  1. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and spices into a bowl.
  2. Add shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, beat until smooth (about 2 minutes).
  3. Stir in oats.
  4. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes.
