  1. My son loved this before it even made it to the oven. He loves the honey nut chex mix but i've had a horrible time finding it for the past several weeks. Well Recipezaar to the rescue once again. We did make a few changes. He doesn't like pretzels so we added Teddy Grahams and I didn't have almonds so we used honey roasted nuts and he loved the coconut. I didn't have any dried fruit but has some granola clusters we used instead and when I ran out of chex cereal we added honey nut cheerios. Well I guess I made a lot of subs but still the base was here and it's great and probably much better for us then the prepackaged stuff. thank you.

  2. I don't know whether I screwed something up, but I put it in for the 35 minutes and it got a burned taste to it. I'll make this again and try it for 5-10 minutes less in the oven and I'll double the sauce, 'cause for us it wasn't enough. After I make it again I'll rerate it. EDIT: I just remade this with double the sauce and I only baked it for 30 minutes and it was simply scrumptious! My fiance isn't a big snacker and he was eating it up! YUM!

  3. Tasty and different chex mix. Tropical flavor that even the kids enjoyed. I used ginger and subbed according to what was in my pantry, banana chips instead of nuts and dried cherries for cranberries. Nice and crunchy, sweet with a hint of ginger. The coconut gets toasty in the oven. Yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  4. I made the cardamom version of this treat using stick pretzels in place of twists. I used a small bag of sliced almonds and supplemented with some canned mixed nuts (no peanuts). This is very, very good! DH kept going back to the kitchen to get another handful, and he is NOT a sweets eater! Thanks for this recipe...a real keeper.
