ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless veal steaks
  • 1 lb pork steak
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 12 cup milk
  • 1 12 cups cracker crumbs

directions

  • Cut steaks in 1 inch cubes.
  • Mix egg and milk.
  • Alternate pieces of veal and pork on 6 skewers.
  • Dip in egg mix then crumbs.
  • Brown in hot oil.
  • Put in baking pan.
  • Add 1 inch water.
  • Cover and bake at 350* for 40 minutes.

  1. I have tried many recipes using flour. They have never been the one I looked for from my childhood. This was perfect. I only had sirloin veal on hand. Next time I will also have a lean pork also. Chicken breast would be a nice addition. I would not change a thing & I did think about adding some spice? Served with baked potatoes, mushrooms & salad. After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
