This recipe is just one notch short of horrible. We made it to the exact measurements and procedures spelled out here. The sage overpowered all the other tastes. The rue was more like runny gray water one would find exiting from your camper after a month of living in the wilderness. The top of the biscuits were overdone and the bottoms were raw and snotty. Of all the many recipes we have used from this site, this is the one that wins the award for the bad taste. I now understand why there is not a picture for this dish.

I made this tonight for supper, but I omitted the veggies, made my own biscuits, and forgot the paprika (Oops!). Since I didn't refrigerate the chicken mixture, I skipped the first 30 minutes of bake time, put the biscuits on top, and baked the dish for about 25 minutes. (For some reason, my biscuits didn't get done in fifteen.) I think next time, I may omit the sage. But other than that, it was really good. Thank you! UPDATE: Having made this several times now, I have settled on substituting an extra teapoon of Mrs. Dash for the thyme and sage. It works pretty well that way, in my opinion.

I love to use the Southern Living Cookbooks and the Joy of Cooking. I don't think you have to have all the ingredients on hand to make a recipe - improvise. Some of my best meals were just thrown together at the last minute w/ what we had in the pantry!
My new favorite "cookbook" is the Recipezaar website!
