  1. Prep vegetables: slice onion along the vertical into strips, seed and dice bell pepper, trim scallions and cut into 1" lengths. Remove to a bowl.
  2. Dice chicken. Remove to a bowl.
  3. In a hot skillet, saute vegetables until onion is tender. Return to bowl.
  4. Saute chicken until cooked through.
  5. Return sauteed vegetables to skillet and deglaze with teriyaki sauce, stirring to loosen browned bits.
  6. Add red pepper flakes, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in black beans until heated through.
  8. Stir in frozen peas and stir just until bright green, barely a minute.
  9. Serve over hot rice.
