Chicken Brunswick Stew (Paula Deen)

"I'm a fan of Paula Deen of the Food Network--good food on the table quick. It looked on TV, but when I set out to make it myself, I wasn't sure of this list of ingredients, not being from the south myself. I had never heard of Brunswick Stew, but after trying it, I'll definitely be making it again."

  1. Sounds really good, but I leave off the rice and add diced potatoes and baby lima beans to the stew. Serve with crackers or cornbread.

  2. This was good. It was a surprise how it tasted.

  3. This was so easy!! Wow so good!!! It makes plenty so I loved the fact that I had enough to freeze for another meal!! The flavors come together so well together. Kids love it aswell!!

  4. I've used this recipe many times. It is a wonderful one! :)I might add hot sauce next time as well as some of the other reviewers. I always use chicken breasts instead of whole chicken.

  5. This was great. I also did not add any sugar and it still had some sweetness to it. Served with yellow rice. I added some hot sauce as well since I can not eat anything without it. I will post pic later. Thanks for posting.

I live in the San Francisco area and love it here. I discovered Recipezaar (then Food.com..Genius Kitchen) in 2001 and have been so happy to have my favorite recipes stored safely here. I am mother to 7 and grandmother to 7. I love to knit, smock, sew, etc., but my favorite hobby of the moment is traditional rug hooking. This is a sample of what I do.? It's called "November".? I dyed most of the wool myself. It is made from wool flannel, cut into strips a little less than 1/4" and then worked into a linen backing. This is my 3rd rug.
