  1. My family loves this! I also added broccoli and it turned out great. This is staying on our menu for sure. Thanks for sharing

  2. This was great. I actually put some frozen broccoli in it so I didn't have to make a side dish.

  3. Like others, I did not mix the tater tots in the mixture but layered them across the top with more cheese. Also added frozen peas and corn, as well as chopped chives. Turn out fantastic and very similar to chicken pot pie filling. We loved it!

  4. This was really good! I stayed pretty close to the recipe...except I added 3 cooked/cubed boneless chicken breasts, some salt & pepper, and a shake garlic powder. It baked beautifully and was delicious.

  5. I placed about 2 cups of crispy brown baked taters (cooled) on the bottom of dish for texture. Then, I topped with the mixture listed in the recipe (but, I added a little frozen broccoli, corn, peas, seasoned, to this mixture. The chicken I added was grilled and seasoned). I baked for 45 minute. Then added more tater tots to the top with freshly diced tomatoes (adds acidity) and sprinkled with more shredded cheese. I baked an additional 15 minutes. Yummy.

Tweaks

  1. We suggest that all but the Tots should be mixed and placed in the baking dish. Then nestle the Tots half-way down into the mix with half of each Tot showing. This will avoid the Tots becoming excessively mushy during baking.

  2. I add the spices that I know I like. Onion Powder, garlic powder, and season salt. We also use Sharp Cheddar cheese because that's what I normally have on hand.

  3. I doubled the recipe, added half the tots in the recipe, then layered the rest on top for texture

  4. Add frozen peas Add frozen corn Add chopped chives

  5. We cut up a PKG of bacon and fried it then added to the mix. Topped with about 1 cup of cheese and when it was done topped with sliced green onions. Yum
