Chickpea and Feta Dip

"Serve this with sliced toasted pita bread bits or any other flat bread you like. The amount of yogurt is difficult to give, it depends on how thick or thin you want to make the dip, I used 1/2 a cup. You can make this dip chunky or very smooth whatever you prefer."

  1. This is a very yummy, healthy dip that we enjoyed a lot served with raw veggies for dinner today. I luved the addition of tomato, bell pepper and feta to a chickpea dip. Very tasty! The dip was refreshing, but I found the parsley a little bit overpowering. I will just use less next time. All in all a wonderful recipe, that I will make again. THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing it here with us, Pets! Made and reviewed for YOUR cookathon in the Photo Forum May 2010.

  2. This was pleasant and fresh tasting but lacked oomph. I liked the chunks of tomato and olive in the dip but I think the green onions were too subtle a flavor with the other ingredients.

  3. I halved the recipe as I was only making it for myself. Because I wasn't paying attention, I put the tomato in with the rest of the ingredients in the food processor. I almost threw the olives in too, but caught my mistake. Tasted good anyway lol. Used French feta, and used more than called for as I had it to use up. Surprisingly, I still had to use quite a bit of salt and pepper to bring out the flavors. Ate with plain and garlic flavor bagel chips. Good luck in the contest!

  4. This was great! I love the taste, but then again anything with chick peas and Feta works for me! It was easy to make, and the ingredients are there for the taking. The only thing I found was that I used a red bell pepper, and it did turn the dip just a little pink. But that didn't bother me! The only thing I did different was used grape tomatoes for the regular tomatoes-two reasons, they were already in the fridge and I like their sweeter taste. But if you use a home grown tomato it would be the same difference. The next time I'll use green peppers, they're less juicy and may keep the color cleaner. Thank you, and hey, if it turns a little green, I've got the perfect St Pattys day dip! All these recipes bring back such fond memories of being in Greece, Spain and Italy. Thank you!

  5. This was a little different and I enjoyed all the veggies and parsley. Served with tortilla chips. Made in memory of our dear Annelies.

Hello, my name is Bonnie and I am a very beautiful cat as you can see if you look at the picture at the top of this page.... What??.. I am supposed to talk about you??? But it says here: About Me!! Well all right then ...... My mom is Dutch and has moved to England in October 2007, after living 15 years in the Netherlands with my English dad. They don’t have any human children and “created” their own family, which means I have to share them with Hannah, she is a 6 years old tortie cat, Abby the dog, she is a 9 year old Beagle, and a one year old black Miniature Pincher named Poppy, I refuse to tell you my age but I am a georgious lilac British Shorthair cat!! It is obvious she adores pets just by looking at her name she uses on Zaar (many on Zaar call her Pets or Petsie Poo), her name in real life is Annelies and that is a common Dutch name. My mom always liked to cook, but since she joined Zaar it got out of control, and it doesn’t help that she is disorganized. Printed recipes everywhere in the house, the recipe binders have got bigger and just between you and me, her hips too!!! I have lived in Holland all of my life until now, but they lived in several different countries/places:- desert and coastal Oman, up North and West in Holland, Vancouver-Canada, Aberdeen- Scotland and in Norway they lived in Bergen and Oslo. We have all moved together to England, as you can see I’ve already learnt the language! I heard her say to Dad that this is the last time she moved to another country...she's had it with moving from one place to another! ( its her age...she's getting grumpy) Mom is 55 years old but I always hear her say that the date of her birthday does not mean that much to her, the date of her cancer anniversary is more important, because so far she is a survivor. Besides cooking she has other interests too, crafts, gardening and soap making. She likes Zaar and is one of the hosts on the German-Benelux Forum here on RecipeZaar. She would like to thank everybody who tries and comments on the recipes she has posted on Recipezaar, your feedback is very much appreciated.
